The paim trees that VascoDa –Gama once mistook for people waving in welcome, Still sway in the gentle breeze that wafts its way here from the Arabian Sea. Kerala is one of the most beautiful states sandwiched between the western Ghats on the east, and the Arbian sea on the west. The state has notified tourism as an industry. It offers one of the best beaches in the country at Kovalam and one of the finest wildlife sanctuary the periyar Wildlife Sanctuary at Thekady. The state is an abode of temples, mosques and churchs. Allepey is known as the Venice of the East. And once a year, its canal banks are thronged with cheering crowds, as Kerala’s sleek snake boats vie with one another to win the Prime Minister’s trophy.
