Madhya pradesh as its name implies, lies in the heart of India. It is the largest state bordering five others . The state consists largely of a plateau streaked with hill ranges of the Vindhayas and the Satura. The main river systems are the Chambal, Betwa, Sindh, Narmada and Tapti. Nearly a third of the staes raea is covered with tropical forest that  offers a unique and excting panorama  of wildlife.

 The state culture heritage is ancient Innumerable monuments- exquisitely carved tem[ples, stupas, forts,and palaces on hill tops-raise in the visitors mind visions of empiers and kingdoms of great warrior and buildiers, poets, musician s, saints and philosophers, of Hindusim , Buddhisim , Jainism and Islam. This large state with diverse people present a cress section of handicrafts. Customs and bellefs in each area have added colour to the fairs and festivals.
