Tripura the secound smallest state was a state of great antiquilty
having been ruled by the Maharastra’ for 1300 years before accession
to the Indian Union in 1949. This tiny qorld of hills and dales,
dense forest, undulating grassland mumuring rimlets and anicent
monuments is a large tribal community, freody proud of its rich
culture and heritage. This is manifest in chaming handicrafts made
from bamboo,came, palm leaves and wood. In this land of ‘Fourteen
